人过中年，却遭遇了丧妻之痛。原本舒适安心的小家，现在变得空落落的，了无生气。妻子物故，家具修理店店长椎名秀亮（西岛秀俊饰）终日只和家中七只小猫相守。但是和悉心照料小家伙们的妻子阳子（酒井美纪饰）相比，椎名终究有些力不从心。于是，他动了为小猫们寻找新的主人的念头。在此期间，椎名的青梅竹马的——担任兽医藤村美咲（吉濑美智子饰）时常过来看望椎名和小猫们，得知了好友的念头，她也积极协助寻找能够收养小猫的爱猫人士。以此为契机，有着各种各样人生的陌生人相继出现在椎名、美咲和小猫们的面前，他们的故事彼此交融…… 该剧改编自重松清的同名短篇小说集。。While on a hunting trip in the isolated wilderness, a father and his adopted teenage son are turned into the prey of unknown assailants.
